This is a safety device which quickly intercepts gas flow when the pressure it is monitoring reaches a pre-set limit due to any anomaly in the system
Relief valves are safety devices to avoid dangerous gas overpressures. When the pressure is reached the pre-setting limit, it discharges the required amount of gas outside to bring the pressure back to safeb values. The operating principle is the balance between thrust pressure on the inner membrane and the opposing force of the spring, whose characteristic defines the pressure to be vented.
